Best and worst dressed at the 2016 CMT Music Awards

WORST: We're all for flashing some skin, but Jessie James Decker looked like she slipped a tablecloth over a one-piece bathing suit in this poorly-executed interpretation of the sheer trend.

BEST: Kelsea Ballerini flashed her undies in a sheer black lace skirt over a patterned tank top. Long, beachy waves and flawless makeup completed her sexy, edgy look.

WORST: Jamie Lynn Spears looked ready for a trip to the beach in a way-too-casual green jersey romper and simple, tousled waves.

BEST: Singer Brooke Eden turned heads in a pink beaded minidress with a groovy print. We love the '60s-inspired bell sleeves! A tousled updo and sexy nude lace-up sandals completed her knockout look.

WORST: Natalie Stovall donned a cheap-looking ruched oxblood minidress. Her caged black sandals and teased updo added to the tacky look.

BEST: Erin Andrews totally dazzled in a simple silver gown that perfectly draped over her fit physique. Shiny curls and red lips completed her knockout look

WORST: WWE Superstar Lana donned a tacky satin-like champagne gown with cheap-loking ruching.

BEST: Carrie Underwood looked breathtaking in a blue floral printed Mikael D. gown with an intricate, twisted bodice and a thigh-high slit that exposed her toned legs and Jimmy Choo sandals. Understated cutouts on the bodice flashed some skin. A short bob, Maxior earrings and pink lipstick completed her gorgeous look styled by Marina Toybina.

WORST: Nicole Kidman rocked a bizarre plunging black sequined minidress with a fringed skirt. A black necktie cluttered the look and mismatched green earrings looked out of place.

BEST: Danielle Bradbery stunned in wide-legged white pants and a wrap-around white crop top. Red lips and minimal accessories completed her simple look.

WORST: Olivia Lane rocked a superhero-esqued skintight jumpsuit with a dramatic cape detail. She accessorized with a statement belt and statement necklace.

BEST: Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony looked totally angelic in coordinated white looks. You gotta work!

WORST: Bonner Bolton definitely stood out from the crowd -- in a bad way -- in a shimmery purple vest.

BEST: Sam Hunt looked incredible in skinny black slacks, sharp shoes and a funky, black-and-white short-sleeved buttondown. A groomed coif completed his suave look.

WORST: Leona Lewis looked frumpy in an ill-fitting red cold-shoulder dress with ruffled sleeves.

BEST: Lauren Alaina looked lovely in a Grecian off-the-shoulder gown in a gorgeous raspberry hue.

WORST: Billy Ray Cyrus rocked gray jeans, a leather jacket and his signature mullet.

BEST: Dierks Bentley looked authentic and kept it casual in gray jeans, a black denim jacket and trucker hat.

WORST: Singer-songwriter Alyssa Micaela rocked a boho floral romper romper with a dramatic cape-esque skirt. A fringe clutch and strappy heels were a bit much.

BEST: Cassadee Pope was totally breathtaking in a gorgeous sheer gown with in a blue floral print.

WORST: Brittany Kerr's Elvis-inspired brocade jumpsuit didn't do her any favors.

The CMT Awards on Wednesday night brought in big names, amazing performances and breathtaking fashion -- but not all attendees hit a high note on the red carpet.

We're all for sexy, sheer looks, but Jessie James Decker looked like she slipped a tablecloth over a one-piece bathing suit in this poorly-executed interpretation of the trend. Kelsea Ballerini, on the other hand, nailed it and flashed her undies in a sheer black lace skirt over a patterned tank top. Long, beachy waves and flawless makeup completed her sexy, edgy look.

While the event called for more fun, casual styles, Jamie-Lynn Spears looked a little too low-key in a soft spaghetti strap romper that felt too informal for the red carpet. Singer Brooke Eden also rocked a beachy look but turned heads for the right reasons in a more structured pink beaded minidress with a groovy print. We love the '60s-inspired bell sleeves! A tousled updo and sexy nude lace-up sandals completed her knockout look.
