Ted Cruz Denies Allegations of Infidelity: 'It's Simply Not True'

Republican candidate Ted Cruz told Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly point blank he has not had an affair.

"It's simply not true. I have always been faithful to my wife," the Texas Sen. said. "I love my wife. She's my best friend in the world."

Kelly's question was prompted by last month's a tabloid report that accused Cruz of having multiple extramarital affairs. The National Enquirer story claimed the GOP hopeful cheated on his wife with five different women.

Immediately after the rumors were published, Cruz addressed the claims, calling them "garbage" and "utter lies." And he pointed the blame for the accusations on Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

"This is the kind of garbage the Trump campaign engages in. You know why? Because they can't debate substance," Cruz reiterated on Fox News.

Both candidates' wives have been dragged into the fray recently as their social media feud heats up.
