Ted Cruz calls tabloid report on alleged affairs 'utter lies'
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz responded Friday to a tabloid report about alleged extramarital affairs, calling it "garbage" and "utter lies."
According to NBC News, the Texas senator strongly denied the claims and blamed "Donald Trump and his henchmen."
The story, which appeared in the National Enquirer, claimed Cruz has had at least five affairs.
"Let me be clear this National Enquirer story is garbage," said Cruz. "It is complete and utter lies. It is a tabloid smear, and it is a smear that has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen."

Two women named in the article have denied the rumors.
Cruz blamed Roger Stone, who he calls "Donald Trump's chief political advisor," for the story.
Trump's camp is denying any accusations that they were behind the tabloid article.
"There is zero truth to that," Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told Reuters.
