On Thursday evening, a China Airlines flight landed with one more passenger than it left with. A pregnant woman on the Los Angeles-bound flight went into labor more than eight weeks early. While on the plane, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

The flight from Bali to Los Angeles was meant to be a 19 hour journey. However, after the woman's water broke unexpectedly only six hours into the flight, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Alaska where the mother and baby were both taken to a hospital.

Fortunately, after the crew asked passengers for medical help, it was discovered that a doctor happened to be on board the flight. He was able to deliver the premature baby at 30,000 ft above the ground.

Upon giving birth to the child, the mother and baby received a round of applause from fellow passengers. One woman on the flight shot a video (above) of air stewards holding the baby and wrapping both her mother and her in large blankets. The passenger recording the video is heard saying:

Both mother and baby are reported to be in good condition.
