22-year-old Nandi Dladla was forced to spend 20 hours at a hospital with her dead baby inside her after nurses allegedly told her to deliver the dead child herself. The west of Durban woman blames the nurses for the death of her baby.

It all started when Dladla's doctor gave her a letter saying that she should go to Addington Hospital so that doctors could operate as soon as she started feeling labor pains. Dladla said:

I felt the baby kick at 1 AM but at 6 AM on Monday morning, I was told my baby was dead." type="quote" author="Nandi Dladla" authordesc="" isquoteoftheday=%

Dladla expected doctors to remove the baby from her stomach upon receiving the news that her baby had died. However, she quickly learned that this wasn't the nurses' plan. Dladla said:

After 20 long, painful and traumatizing hours, the baby was finally removed. Dladla is very angry that she was forced to endure such a tragic and preventable experience. She said:

Her sister, Nokukhanya Ntuli, 43 said the nurses were cruel and negligent. Ntuli blames the hospital staff for the death of her sister's baby. She said:

We are angry as we were looking forward to having a new baby in our family." type="quote" author="Nokukhanya Ntuli" authordesc="" isquoteoftheday=%

KZN Health Department spokesman Sam Mkhwanazi said he couldn't discuss clinical matters with people not involved.
