CLEVELAND (FOX 8) - Video shows the driver being ejected from his SUV as it continues down the highway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol posted the video to its Facebook page on Tuesday of the January crash.

The driver loses control in snowy conditions in the westbound lanes of Route 2 in Cleveland. As the SUV veers towards the guardrail, the driver is ejected and lands in front of the trooper's cruiser. He struggles to his feet and stumbles while the trooper goes to help him.

According to authorities, the driver is in his 20s. He was cited for the accident.

The driver tells Fox 8's Suzanne Stratford that he has no memory of the accident or being ejected from the SUV. The last thing he remembers is sliding, then waking up on the ground and getting out of the way.

Sgt. Adam Doles with the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the driver is very lucky.

Doles says it is "miraculous" that he wasn't hit by another vehicle and "extremely lucky it was a state trooper there who was paying attention" and shielded traffic from hitting him.

The state patrol said this is a reminder to other motorists to slow down and wear seatbelts.
