Zoe Ball shares emotional "goodbye" tribute to late mum after funeral

Zoe Ball has posted a "goodbye" tribute to her late mum Julia on social media following the funeral.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter announced Julia's death towards the end of April following a short battle with pancreatic cancer, and used her Instagram page to share an emotional message yesterday (May 9).

Alongside a gallery of family photos, Ball wrote: "Yesterday we said goodbye to our dear Mama, Granny J. It was the perfect day and she would have loved it. Forever in our hearts Mama, thank you for your magic & love. Missing you so much but holding tight to each other.

"Thank you to everyone who sent kind messages, cards & flowers.

"Big love to the many of you who have shared with us about your own loss and heartbreak, to those battling with cancer or looking after loved ones affected by cancer. We wish you all the strength and love. And of course the humour you need to keep going. some days it's so hard to be brave."

Ball then revealed that she and her brother Jamie will be fundraising sometime in the future on behalf of St Peter & St James Hospice and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

"Let's hope one day more can be done to help those diagnosed. Our Mum was diagnosed in February, we lost her in just 12 weeks," she added.

Withnail and I actor Richard E. Grant was among those who commented on the post, replying with six red heart emojis. The Traitors presenter Claudia Winkleman posted "All love" and three hearts.

"Thinking of you all," said RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, while Morning Live's Gaby Roslin added: "Sending you so much my beautiful Zoe. Love you dearly."
