Zoë Kravitz Actually Wrote A Movie Role Based On Channing Tatum Before Meeting Him

Let's just cut to the chase: Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum take the cake for coolest couple in Hollywood. The pair—who met in January 2021 on a movie set—appear to have gotten engaged after two years together, and fans couldn’t be happier for them. While the two haven't confirmed the 'ship update themselves, a photo of Zoë wearing a big diamond on *that* finger rocked the Internet yesterday, and some sources told People that the rumors were true.
The two officially began dating in September 2021 after both going through divorces. ICYMI, Zoë was previously married to Karl Glusman from 2019 to 2021, and Channing called it quits with Jenna Dewan in 2019 after a decade of marriage.

January 2021: Zoë and Channing meet on the set of a movie.
The pair was first linked when they began working on their film Pussy Island together, sparking dating rumors. But Zoë and Channing were nothing more than friends at the time, a source told People.
"They're working together on an upcoming project and it's not true that they're dating," the source said.
June 2021: Zoë says she had Channing in mind when creating the Pussy Island role.
Yup, Zoë made her directorial debut with the film, and claims that Channing was “the one I thought of when I wrote this character,” she previously told Deadline.
Zoë personally called Channing to offer him the role. “I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter,” she said.
August 2021: They’re spotted in public for the first time together.
Everyone probably remembers where they were when they saw these cute paparazzi pics. Zoë and Channing went on a bike ride on August 19, 2021, per People. (Aw!)
And Channing started following Zoë Kravitz fan accounts on Instagram, like “zkluv,” “zoekravitzinc,” “zoekravitzsource” and “kravitzupdate,” according to Us Weekly. (He later opened up about it in a 2023 Vanity Fair cover story: “I have no chill,” he said. “I was just seeing what she was up to! Also, I didn’t know anyone would know.”)
September 1, 2021: Their relationship is confirmed.
Zoë and Channing "continue[d] to be inseparable,” a source told People, as the couple was spotted around New York City on cute dates, strolling around the city and visiting the Guggenheim Museum. "They looked very happy,” the source said. “They have this cute and flirty chemistry."
September 13, 2021: Zoë and Channing both attend the Met Gala.
While they arrived separately and skipped making their red carpet debut as a couple, the pair did leave the event together holding hands, per People. Zoë and Channing also attended to the Cincoro Tequila Met Gala afterpart hosted by Alicia Keys, where they “did not take their hands off of each other," an insider told the outlet.
October 22, 2021: They show PDA for the first time on a date.
The couple was spotted holding hands as they walked together to lunch in New York City, according to People. Photos showed Channing putting his arm around Kravitz as they were bundled up for the cold weather.
October 31, 2021: Zoë and Channing dress up for Halloween together.
The pair dressed up as Iris and Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver and shared photos of their costumes on their Instagram stories, per People. Sources told the outlet that they were starting to get more comfortable with their relationship in public.
"They don't seem to care about hiding their relationship anymore," the sources said. "It's obvious that they are very happy."
November 2021: Zoë is getting to know Channing’s daughter.
It "only seems natural that she is getting to know Everly," a source told People of Channing's then-eight-year-old daughter, whom she shares with Jenna Dewan. "He is a very loving dad," a source for Tatum said. "He also acts very serious with Zoë." Cute!
February 2, 2022: Channing speaks about her in magazine cover interviews.
Channing spoke about their time working together on Pussy Island. “She’s a perfectionist in the best possible way,” he said. He also talked about Zoë's influence on his personal style (along with 21 Jump Street co-star Jonah Hill) in an interview with VMAN.
“Some friends of mine, like you and Zo [Zoë Kravitz], were like, ‘Why don’t you just wear what you wear? Why don’t you just be you?’ You gave me some very specific style tips. I’m really enjoying finding my own voice and my own way with some very beautiful guardrails,” he said.
February 14, 2022: Zoë also chats about Channing in her own magazine cover interviews.
Yup, she opened up about their 'ship for her ELLE cover story, revealing that she’d never met him before casting him, but thought he’d be “brave enough” for the story. (But they both had voice roles in The Lego Batman Movie in 2017!)

February 28, 2022: Channing attends the premiere of The Batman to support Zoë.
Zoë starred as Catwoman alongside Robert Pattinson, who played Batman, in the film. Channing went with Jason Momoa (who was married to Zoë’s mom, Lisa Bonet), and Jason even dropped an Instagram photo of them together. “SO EXCITED @channingtatum and I are on our way to see our ZOZO,” he wrote in the caption. “i’m so beyond proud of you @zoeisabellakravitz.”
March 2022: Zoë and Channing seem very happy together.
Channing was "telling friends how proud he is of Zoë for her role in The Batman movie," a source told People. "He is a huge fan of her acting." Another source said they have “playful energy” together and spend time together on both coasts.
August 16, 2022: Zoë talks about how grateful she is that Channing's in her life.
“When you make things with people, it’s a very sacred space, and when you’re compatible with somebody creatively, it often opens up other channels, because you’re kind of sharing all of yourself,” Kravitz told WSJ Magazine. “I’m really grateful that this movie has brought him into my life that way.”
August 18, 2022: They travel to Italy together.
The pair celebrated their first anniversary together in Italy and brought Everly along, per Harper’s Bazaar. They were photographed grabbing dinner in Ponza Island, and definitely showing some PDA.
November 15, 2022: Zoë talks candidly about their relationship.
“He’s just a wonderful human,” she told GQ. “He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.”
She also said that Channing was calming presence for her when it was stressful on set.
September 11, 2023: The couple hangs with Taylor Swift’s friend group.

At least, that's what a source told People after Zoë was spotted wearing a new ring while attending Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party. She was dressed as Rosemary Woodhouse and Channing dressed as her baby from Rosemary’s Baby.
