We don’t have to wait until the carpet unfurls on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art to know Zendaya is going to knock her Met Gala look out of the park—but she is already giving us hints as to what we can expect.

For a pre–Met Gala dinner held in New York City on Sunday night, the actor convened with the other event co-chairs in an outfit that nodded to this year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time.” She wore a midi version of a gown that first appeared on John Galliano’s Dior Couture Spring/Summer 1998 runway, which featured delicate white pointelle fabric and a mesh see-through bodice embellished with pretty pink flowers, butterflies, and bows. Garden of Time, indeed!

Zendaya topped off the look with a pair of her trusty white pointed-toe pumps, as well as an array of Bulgari jewelry.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Law Roach—Zendaya’s longtime friend and stylist—teased what he knows about the style star’s forthcoming Met Gala look.

“I haven’t seen Zendaya’s dress,” he revealed, explaining that the two have been busy with the press tours for Dune: Part Two and Challengers. “The dress isn’t even made. They won’t fit until Saturday.”

Of his working relationship with the Euphoria star, Roach added, “We call each other our fashion soulmates. We also refer to our relationship as ‘big ideas, small details.’ I come in with, ‘You should wear 14 dresses, and you should change, and you should have a wig on and take it off so your hair should fall down!’ And she’s, ‘No, no, no, no. We’re going to do two dresses, and I’m going to keep the same hair.’ ”
