Zendaya Stuns in Vintage Versace Corseted Gown to Accept Star of the Year Award at CinemaCon
You know it's a great day when Zendaya serves a head-turning look on the red carpet and earns another well-deserved award. It's been quite the week for Queen Z — she performed her Euphoria songs alongside Labrinth at Coachella, headed to CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote her upcoming movie, Dune: Part Two with bestie Timothée Chalamet, and now she's stepping onto another red carpet for an awards ceremony. It's Zendaya's world, and we're truly just living in it.
The 26-year-old multihyphenate attended the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards at Caesars Palace on April 27, and she stunned in a couture Versace gown and shimmering Bulgari jewelry for the occasion. As the recipient of the Star of the Year Award, she wore a brown leather and lace corseted dress with a draping cowl neck and flowered-lace details from Versace's Fall/Winter 2001 ready-to-wear collection. Of course, she was styled by longtime collaborator and BFF, Law Roach, to receive the honor.
"I'm so grateful for all of you because without all of you, what I do wouldn't have a home or place to go," Z said in her acceptance speech, per The Hollywood Reporter. "I think my gift is storytelling. That's what I love to do, and it means nothing if those stories don't get to the people they need to get to."
The Emmy winner continued, "In a theater, that's where someone can feel seen. That's where someone can feel less alone. That's when someone can escape. That's where someone can build a new dream. I have been witness to that and I've experienced it myself."
She then revealed that her first date was to watch a movie that would eventually change her life and the course of her career. "Literally, my first date was when I was 15 years old and it was to go see Spider-Man in 3D," she said, alluding to the franchise she would join years later with BF Tom Holland. BRB, sobbing. 🥲
