Zendaya 'doesn't know' what's happening with Euphoria season 3

Zendaya has admitted she is in the dark about when Euphoria season 3 will be getting underway – though is keen to return.

The next season of the HBO teen drama has suffered delays, with a recent report suggesting that cast members' busy schedules have pushed things back.

Speaking to Variety, Zendaya – who plays the role of Rue Bennett in the series – was asked whether we will see a third season.

"I don’t know. I am not in charge," she responded, before being asked if she wanted to see another season.

"Of course, if it’s right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course," the star added. "But it’s beyond me.”

Addressing the delays last month, an HBO spokesperson told Variety: "HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities."

As well as casting scheduling, the new season has been pushed back due to last year's Hollywood strikes, as well as the tragic passing of actor Angus Cloud.

Jules Vaughn actor Hunter Schafer addressed the delays last week, the star telling Variety: "I just really miss everybody. Everyone is doing very well in their careers right now."

She added: "Everyone's kind of blown up, and so with that comes people traveling a lot. Whatever happens, I'm just excited to get back together once it's time and catch up and hang out."

Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, recently admitted excitement to return to filming, telling MTV: "It's like home when I go back to it. I like it. I'm excited. It's like family."

Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
