The birthday celebrations are on for New York Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson and veteran quarterback Tom Brady. And per usual, Brady’s age is making the rounds on social media because of it.

Believe it or not, Brady turned 44 on Tuesday. Wilson, meanwhile, is now 22 years old. Both will be starting quarterbacks in the NFL this upcoming season.

Reporters asked Wilson on Tuesday what he thinks about sharing a birthday with Brady. The Jets’ rookie had a pretty awesome reaction.

“It’s pretty dang cool,” Wilson said, via Jets Videos. “I would say one of the craziest parts is I think I was one in his first year in the NFL. Pretty crazy to think about.”

When asked if Wilson will make any comments about his age compared to Brady’s when he next interacts with the Buccaneers quarterback, Wilson said he’ll bring it up.

Zach Wilson is one of the youngest potential starting quarterbacks in the NFL, but he’s not the youngest. Trevor Lawrence and Trey Lance are both 21 years old. Lawrence won’t turn 22 until this October while Lance will turn 22 next May.

Regardless, the future is bright in the Big Apple. Wilson is reportedly off to a pretty decent start in training camp. He seems to have bought in to the Jets and their organization.

Wilson was phenomenal for the BYU Cougars last year. He completed 73.5 percent of his passes for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns with just three interceptions. The Jets would love for the rookie to keep up that 11-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

We’ll get a good look at Wilson and the Jets when they begin the preseason on Aug. 14 against the New York Giants.
