If you're celebrating 4/20, here's your guide to mid-Hudson Valley events, deals

New York marked the opening of its 100th cannabis dispensary Wednesday in New Paltz, just days before the widely recognized unofficial cannabis holiday, April 20.

The state legalized recreational marijuana in 2021. If you're 21 and over and looking to celebrate this Saturday, gear up for your choice of 4/20 events throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley.

Beacon's first legal cannabis dispensary will have its grand opening this Saturday, breweries across the Mid-Hudson Valley are marking the occasion, and plenty of restaurants will be providing themed parties, with live music and dancing.

The mid-Hudson Valley's 4/20 events: Dutchess County

LotusWorks Wellness located at 261 Main St., Beacon, is having their grand opening on Saturday, April 20, and they will be Beacon's first legal cannabis dispensary. The grand opening begins at 2 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m.

Throughout the day they'll have entertainment such as yoga and a sound bath at 2:30 p.m., live music at 4 p.m. and a DJ at 6 p.m. Along with this, there will be complimentary pre-roll stations, local artists and makers, a cannabis plant sale, pottery wheel throwing and flash tattoos.

Tickets for the event range from $21-$63. You can purchase tickets through their website, lotusworkswellness.com/launch-party/.

If you're looking to relax and find balance on Saturday, The Loc Artistry by AV is hosting a Wellness Sesh from 12:30-4 p.m. Tickets for the event are $45, but all the activities are included.

On the agenda, you'll find yoga, meditation, socialization, a chair massage, sound bowl healing, red light therapy, a ionic foot bath and a sister circle. You can purchase tickets on eventbrite.com.

The mid-Hudson Valley's 4/20 events: Ulster County

Happenstancery Improv is hosting an Improv Comedy Show for 420 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Stellar Yoga, located at 11 Church St., #2, New Paltz.

Happenstancery Improv, Jolly Joe Jester, LoveJoy along with Left Handed Co-workers are providing a night of laughs, with spontaneous jokes and skits.

If you're interested in attending, tickets are $10 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.

Kingston Techno is hosting a 420-friendly event, at BIGCAT at 428 Abeel St., Kingston. The party is going from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and will have live electronic music by Dan Stevens, along with DJ sets from Scotia of Community Rave Network, as well as their resident DJ and Kingston Techno co-founder, Jams Bond.

To make the atmosphere even better, they're having dynamic visuals to create a tranquil space from Pxl Mage and Pablo B, and treats, "420 and non-420," will be available for purchase from Space Cakes. They also recommend carpooling, as parking is limited.

West Kill Supply will be hosting a 420 Party at 602 Broadway, Unit 2, Kingston, all day Saturday; their operating hours on are from noon to 10 p.m.

At the party, you'll find live music from three bands including Whoah at 1 p.m., Yard Sale at 4 p.m. and Marsh King's Daughter at 6 p.m.

They'll also have a legal pop-up dispensary and food from The Meat Wagon.

Tubby's Kingston, located at 586 Broadway, is hosting a 420 Blowout Party, with a full day of events. From 12:20-4:20 p.m., they're having a free record fair. After 4:20 p.m. you'll pay $15 cover to enter, will a plethora of DJs to entertain.

From 8:30-11 p.m., you can enjoy live music from Katy and The Liars Steely Dan tribute and Back Home Cannabis Co. pre-rolls.

The Colony Woodstock and Upstate Reggae presents Peter Tosh Day 420 featuring Dis-N-Dat with Rango, of Black Uhuru, and Dion Knibb, with Shell and Bee, from 8-11 p.m. on Saturday at 22 Rock City Road.

If you want to hear reggae taken to a new level, with the combined sounds of Roots Reggae, Dance Hall and R&B, this might be the show for you. Advanced general admission tickets for $25 can be purchased on eventbrite.com; doors open at 7 p.m.

The mid-Hudson Valley's 4/20 events: Orange County

Aspire Brewing located at 600 N Galleria Drive, Middletown, is hosting a 420 Fest in partnership with Luxe Smoke Gallery. Grateful Dead Cover Bands are providing live music all day, including Dead on the Tracks from 1-4 p.m. and The Ralph Palladino Band from 6-9 p.m. You'll also be able to indulge in "curated munchies."

If you go to either Aspire Brewing or Luxe Smoke Gallery Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you'll also receive a 15% coupon for the other establishment. Coupons must be used within the weekend.

Clemson Brewery's Middletown location at 22 Cottage St. is having a 4/20 party in their Beer Garden, with live music from 6-9 p.m. from "The Hype," along with a live DJ.

They're offering food and beverages, as well as games including axe throwing, cornhole, football and bowling.

Trail's End Taphouse at Greenwood Lake Garden Market is hosting a 4/20 Celebration on Saturday; doors open at 4 p.m.

They plan to offer live music, vendors and raffles, and you can buy tickets at the door or through the event page on Warwick Valley Cannabis Club's website, warwickvalleycannabis.com/events/.

Happy Tree, located at 99 Route 17K, Newburgh, is hosting their second annual Canna-Cup this Saturday from 3-6 p.m., with an after-party from 6-10 p.m.

They'll be providing snacks and prizes, and Ya Boi Rapz will be DJ. It's $20 to enter the event, $10 to spectate, and you can purchase tickets on eventbrite.com.
