Netflix's new series Wednesday continues the misadventures of the creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky Addams Family, or more specifically, one of them. The Tim Burton-directed and produced series takes daughter Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and separates her from the rest of the clan, sending her to Nevermore Academy where she soon sets about investigating some macabre mysteries.

That isn't to say we don't get to see the rest of the Addamses. Wednesday's parents Gomez and Morticia make an appearance on the show, portrayed this time around by Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones, as does Uncle Fester, played by SNL alum Fred Armisen, and Wedneday's brother Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez.

In fact, Wednesday features not just one set of Addams parents, but two: through a series of flashbacks in one episode in particular, viewers get to see the younger versions of Gomez and Morticia for the first time, back when they were just a young couple in love at Nevermore, and learn more about the backstory of how this mysterious and spooky dynasty first came into being.

Who plays young Gomez Addams in Wednesday?

Gomez Addams is played as a younger man by Lucius Hoyos, a 21-year-old actor best known for his roles in Netflix thriller Awake opposite Gina Rodriguez, sci-fi sequel series Heroes Reborn, and the film Once Upon a Time in Staten Island (also titled This Is the Night) alongside Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale.
