Yosemite National Park rangers arrest suspect for alleged assault, seeking witnesses

Park rangers at Yosemite National Park are hoping hikers can help them gather more information about an alleged assault that happened on Thursday.

The incident took place around 7 p.m. at Happy Isles, near the start of the Mist Trail in Yosemite National Park, rangers said.

Rangers were able to identify a victim and arrest a suspect. No other details were released.

Rangers are looking for additional witnesses who may have seen the incident.

Anyone who was hiking in the area of the Happy Isles trailhead or witnessed the assault are asked to call or text the NPS Investigative Services Branch tip Line at 888-653-0009.
