York Revolution 2024: Promotions, tickets, fireworks and more

It’s spring training time in York.

The York Revolution opened spring training this week at WellSpan Park in preparation for the season opener on Thursday, April 25. The Revs will host the Boxcars, Hagerstown’s new team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Fans will get their first look at the Revs on Saturday, April 20 when the team hosts Fan Fest. Activities kick off at 5 p.m. on Brooks Robinson Plaza, with players on hand from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. for photos and autographs. Gates open at 6 p.m. and a game against the Susquehanna and Central League all-stars begins at 7 p.m.

The all-stars will feature Lancaster native Chris Mattison, a San Diego Padres draft pick; former Dallastown and York College player Joe Capobianco; former Dallastown and Penn State York player Kameron Bayman and former Eastern York and University of Richmond player Dylan Stoops as well as other local players.

Fan Fest tickets are $5 for general public, $3 for partial-season members and free for full-season members.

The right decision: He left politics and Wall Street for education. He refs and coaches. Now he's got 100 wins

Some new technology

A state-of-the-art videoboard will keep fans informed and entertained at Revs games. The screen is double the resolution and brightness of the previous board and covers more than 1,700 square feet.

Combined with a complete overhaul of the Revs’ video cameras and online broadcast, the experience will rival brand new ballparks, according to team officials.

Remembering Brooks Robinson

The York Revolution will honor team co-founder and baseball icon Brooks Robinson with a jersey giveaway on opening day. Robinson, who began his professional baseball career with the York White Roses on June 3, 1955, died on Sept. 26, 2023 at 86 years old.

The jersey is a replica of the one Robinson wore with the White Roses. It’s available to the first 1,000 fans and features a vintage White Roses design with a 5 and Robinson on the back.

The game will also bring an end to the Brooks Robinson Foundation charity auction that launches online on April 18. Fans can bid on an authenticated Topps Brooks Robinson rookie baseball card, as well as other Robinson and Revolution memorabilia and Revs experiences.

Brooks David Robinson Jr. will be on hand for a pregame ceremony honoring his father, who is a member of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame after an All-Star career with the Baltimore Orioles that included a World Championship.

Fireworks will explode over WellSpan Park nearly a dozen times this season.
