Klein, 31, died while trying to knock down the blaze at the home on Avenue N near E. 108th St. in Canarsie that erupted about 1:40 p.m.

Klein was cut down when the building ceiling collapsed; the critically injured firefighter was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn but could not be saved.

The body of a tenant in the building was also later found inside the charred wreckage.
