New York Giants sign Oregon defensive lineman Casey Rogers as undrafted free agent

The New York Giants have reportedly signed Oregon DL Casey Rogers as an undrafted free agent.

What Casey Rogers brings to New York Giants

Rogers is an athletic big man who had a scholarship offer to play lacrosse at Syracuse coming out of high school. After playing in 19 games over three seasons at Nebraska where he totaled 42 tackles, Rogers transferred to Oregon. He flourished as a Duck, getting 56 tackles in two seasons and 27 games.

Casey Rogers highlights at Oregon football

Rogers’ most memorable play as a Duck didn’t come along the defensive line. In September against Colorado, he took a direct snap on a fake punt and ran 18-yards for an Oregon first down.

How Casey Rogers performed at Oregon's Pro Day

After not receiving an NFL Scouting Combine invite, Rogers was the standout performer at Oregon’s Pro Day. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and a 9-8 broad jump. His vertical would have ranked first among all defensive lineman at the combine, and his broad jump would’ve ranked second. He also ran a 4.82-second 40-yard dash, which would've ranked second at the combine, and he put up 27 reps on the bench press.
