Here's What Jewel Had to Say About Rumors She's Dating Kevin Costner
Yellowstone star Kevin Costner is making headlines again—but this time, rather than for behind-the-scenes drama on his hit Western, it's rumors of a new celebrity romance.
The first hints that Costner and singer Jewel might be more than just friends began in November 2024, however the duo have remained fairly circumspect about the issue. In a new interview with Elle, Jewel did obliquely allude to her relationship with Costner, blushingly sharing, "He’s a great person. The public fascination is intense for sure."
Speculation about their potential romance first started when Costner, who settled his divorce from his second wife, handbag designer Christine Baumgartner, in September 2024, was photographed with Jewel during a tennis fundraiser in the British Virgin Islands late last year.
The event, benefitting Jewel's Inspiring Children Foundation, was held on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the BVIs, and included the likes of tennis player Genie Bouchard, Costner, and Branson himself. According to sources speaking to TMZ, Jewel and Costner are romantically involved, and the relationship is, "rather new."
The two reportedly made the trip to the Caribbean together and spent more than a week there. Neither Costner nor Jewel have officially confirmed the relationship.
"Every year, my foundation @inspiringchildren and I go to Necker Island to help host a tennis event w @richardbranson to raise funds for our kids. Amazing players like @geniebouchard come and support us in playing doubles with the folks who come… it’s an incredible time, and one I use to relax, rest and play w my son!" Jewel wrote in a post on her Instagram, adding, "@kevincostnermodernwest was kind enough to mentor our kids this year, and Sir Richard was his usual inspiring self- who also plays a mean game of doubles!"
The news came a month after rumors surfaced that Costner was dating actress Reese Witherspoon. Witherspoon's representatives responded to the speculation saying, "This story is completely fabricated and not true."
