Demi Moore Joins Billy Bob Thornton in Taylor Sheridan’s Landman Oil Rig Drama

Hot off her FEUD: Capote vs. the Swans debut, Demi Moore has boarded the cast of Landman, Paramount+’s upcoming series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.

Based on the 11-part Boomtown podcast and set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs,” offering an “upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton fills the lead role of Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for an oil company; Moore, our sister site Deadline reports, will play Tommy’s wife Cami.

“Demi Moore is an iconic and extraordinary talent,” Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have her join Billy Bob Thornton and the star-studded cast of Landman, our next epic series from Taylor Sheridan.”

Other previously announced cast members include Michelle Randolph (1923) as Ainsley, Tommy’s wild and strong-willed 17-year-old daughter, and Jacob Lofland (The Son) as Cooper, Tommy’s son who is new to the demanding work in the oil and gas fields of West Texas; Kayla Wallace (When Calls The Heart‘s Fiona) as Rebecca Savage, an extremely capable and intimidating liability attorney who is sent to West Texas to clean up a mess; James Jordan (Yellowstone, Special Ops: Lioness) as Dale Bradley, a petroleum engineer and Tommy’s roommate; Mark Collie (Nashville) as Sheriff Joeberg; and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia) as Ariana, a young mother whose family has suffered a misfortune.

Sheridan co-created Landman with Christian Wallace. A filming start date has not yet been set, nor has a timetable for the Paramount+ series’ eventual release date.
