Yellowjackets star Sarah Desjardins lands next movie role
Yellowjackets star Sarah Desjardins and Shameless actor Cameron Monaghan have landed their next movie roles in Disney's Tron: Ares.
The pair join Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith in the long-awaited threequel, which is being directed by Joachim Ronning (via Deadline).
The film, which follows on from Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010), is set to focus on the "emergence of a sentient program that crosses over into the human world that is not ready for contact".

Leto will play the titular computer program, while Lee will play the video game programmer and tech CEO. The remaining characters are currently unknown.
Desjardins is perhaps best known for playing Melanie Lynskey's teenage daughter, Callie Sadekci, in Showtime's Emmy-nominated series Yellowjackets.
The actress also starred in Netflix's hit show The Night Agent earlier this year playing the Vice President's daughter, Maddie Redfield.

Monaghan's most notable roles include Ian Gallagher on Showtime's Emmy-winning series Shameless, as well as twins Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska on Fox's Gotham. More recently, the actor portrayed former Jedi padawan Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Opening up about his role in the video game series, Monaghan shared: "We're seeing mature, smart stories being told, which are every bit as in-depth and meaningful as film or TV can be.
"Regardless of whether a performer has been on film, TV, or theatre, or might specialise in performance capture, or voice acting, there are so many performers that are getting their due through the video game medium."
Tron: Ares is yet to receive an official release window.
