Wynonna Judd Hints at Future Jelly Roll Collab

After fans expressed concern over Wynonna Judd's performance with Jelly Roll at the Country Music Awards on Nov. 8, the 59-year-old country legend took to Instagram to assure her followers that she was fine. "I'm just gonna come clean with y'all. I was so freaking nervous," she said. "I got out there and I looked at Jelly Roll. I wanted it to be so good for him."

Now, she's further explaining the so-called "bizarre" set, in which she was seen holding on tightly to Jelly Roll's jacket as they stood side by side singing, in an interview with Parade.

"That was special because I got stuck in the car and I was really scared about making it to the church on time," she revealed. "There were about six or eight cars in front of me and I absolutely panicked because we were at the top of the show. So, by the time I got to the side of the stage, it was absolute chaos because it's live television and everybody was running around, and I just went, 'Oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God,' and then it was 5-4-3-2-1 and I went, 'Hallelujah, let's do this.' I just have a thing about live television because you don't get to do it over."

You might assume that an artist who's been performing live for decades would be more than comfortable doing so, but you'd be wrong.

"I've always gotten nervous, and I think that's good," Judd tells Parade. "Sometimes it's a lot to handle because people think that I've got it all figured out and that's the scam. But the truth is we're walking through life just like anybody else."

"I actually am shy," Judd continues. "People don't know that about me because they make a lot of assumptions."

Thankfully, Jelly Roll has been nothing but understanding and supportive of his duet partner. "[He] has been very kind to me and we're going to do more together," Judd shares.

Perhaps we'll see them back on stage in 2024!
