WWE star Sonya Deville marries fitness model Toni Cassano in Pompton Plains

Daria Berenato has a soft side.

You might not see it when Berenato, known to World Wrestling Entertainment fans as Sonya Deville, is beating up her opponents, but last week she showed her other side, marrying fitness model Toni Cassano.

Berenato grew up in Shamong and attended Seneca High School. She returned to her home state to tie the knot.

According to People, the couple got married at the Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains.

The ceremony included 140 of the couple's friends and family, including WWE stars Charlotte Flair and her husband Andrade, Bayley, Live Morgan, McKenzie Mitchell, Matt Cardona and his wife Chelsea Green, Many Rose, announcer Vic Joseph, and Montez Ford and his wife, Bianca Belair, who served as a special "flower girl."

The officiant for the wedding was Maria Menounos, the former host of "Extra" and "E! News." Menounos is a big WWE fan and works with the promotion, and she's a long-time friend of Berenato.

“That was one element that was really special to me. Maria and her husband Keven [Undergaro] have been a huge part of my life. They're the reason I'm in the WWE — they introduced me to that whole world," Berenato told People. "They were my mentors back when I was 20 years old bartending in Los Angeles, so they've been with me the entire ride.

“They've also seen some of my previous relationships and had some opinions. So when I found Toni and they met Toni, they fell in love with her the same way that I did. And so to have Maria put into words — because she's so good at that — everything that has transpired here was the perfect fit.”

The brides made it official by sharing their first dance to Etta James' "At Last."

The couple then headed to Costa Rica for their honeymoon.

“I've been wanting to go for a long time,” says Berenato. “You have the volcanoes, you have the rainforest, you have the zip lining, you have the food tasting. So many different things to do. And so we're going to hotel hop and resort hop and just explore Costa Rica, and we're going to eat, pray, love.”

The wedding came at a perfect time for Berenato, who has been on the shelf with a torn ACL she suffered during the summer. She is expected to return to action soon.

It would be nice if she was able to return to action by Wrestlemania, which will be held about a half hour away from Berenato's home. Wrestlemania will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
