WWE King and Queen of the Ring live results: Who was crowned as King and Queen?

The King (and Queen) of the Ring is back on pay-per view for the first time since 2002 when Brock Lesner defeated Rob Van Dam in Columbus, Ohio.

There will be a new King and Queen crowned this year at the Jeddah SuperDome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as reigning champs Xavier Woods and Zelina Vega (2021) will not be in the finals.

Gunther will face Randy Orton, while Lyra Valkyria will take on Nia Jax. Any of the final four contestants will be first time winners if they are victorious.

In addition to a first time king and queen, there are other championship matches on the card.

Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against United States champion Logan Paul, with only Rhodes' championship being on the line.

Liv Morgan looks to complete her "Revenge Tour" as she takes on Beck Lynch for the Women's World Championship.

Sami Zayn will take on Chad Gable and Bronson Reed in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental WWE Championship.

The team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will defend their WWW Women's Tag Titles during the countdown pre-show against Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae.

There was also breaking news announced that Drew McIntyre is cleared for action and will face the World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at Clash at the Castle in his hometown of Scotland on June 15.

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill (champs) vs Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae (countdown match)

Belair and Cargill defended their WWE Women's Tag Titles successfully in the first match of the day. They showed off a new team finisher that picked up the victory as Belair hit a DDT, with Cargill holding Larae's legs. As LaRae's head bounced off the canvas, Cargill hit a "Cyclone Suplex," and Belair pinned her for the win. If this duo keeps coming up with innovative ways to win, they will hold those title for a long time.

Becky Lynch (champ) vs Liv Morgan

Dominik Mysterio made an appearance ringside late in the match to prevent Morgan from winning the championship as she hurt his "mami" Rhea Ripley last month. As the referee was checking on Morgan in the corner, Mysterio slid a chair in to Lynch that she refused to use. The ref then goes to get Mysetrio off the apron, and while the referee's back is turned, Morgan hits Lynch with a DDT on the chair, and then throws the chair outside of the ring. This leads to Morgan hitting Lynch with her finisher the "oblivion," and pinning her 1-2-3 for the first time in her career. The "Revenge Tour" is complete as Morgan is the new Women's World Champion.

Sami Zayn (champ) vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed

Reed was thrown out of the ring with a waiting Otis (Gable's prodigy) standing by. Gable yelled at Otis that it was "time for the plan." Otis then attacks Reed with a clothesline that knocked him down. Zayn was then thrown outside for Otis to attack, but he hesitated. After a speech, and slap to the face, by Gable to Otis, Otis decided to give in and attack Zayn. As Gable held Zayn up for Otis to clothesline, Zayn ducked out the way at the last moment and Otis hit his coach Gable instead. Zayn ran back in the ring and hit Reed with a "Helluva Kick" in the corner and pinned him for a three count to retain his title.

Lyra Valkyria vs Nia Jax (Queen of the Ring)

Jax dominated this match from the start of the bell by just overpowering Valkyria, but Valkyria had moments later in the match that caught Jax off guard. However, in the end, Jax was just experienced. As Jax was on the second rope facing the crowd, Valkyria took a chance by going under Jax and trying to powerbomb all 272-pounds of Jax off the ropes. As failed to do so, Jax took advantage and hit her with a brutal "Annihilator" move that won Jax her first Queen of the Ring tournament. Jax was emotional as the WWE Chief Content Officer (CCO) Paul Levesque "Triple H" entered the ring to present her the crown. Jax took a knee as Levesque put the crown on her head, and the two embraced again. This win also earns her a title shot against current WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Bayley at Summerslam in August.

Gunther vs Randy Orton (King of the Ring)

Gunther continues to build his legacy as he beat the 14-time WWE world championships for his first King of the Ring. Despite hitting two RKOs out of nowhere, Gunther took advantage of a bad knee by Orton. On the second RKO, Orton could not put any leverage on his left knee, so when he pinned and Gunther and Gunther kicked out, he injured his knee more. Gunther noticed and rolled Orton up for a pin for the win, although it may be some controversy later as it seemed like one of Orton's shoulders were up during the pinfall. Gunter has already set a WWE record for the longest reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion with 666 days, before he lost it at Wrestlemania 40 to Zayn. Now, he will have his eyes set on Priest or McIntyre at Summerslam in August for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Cody Rhodes (champ) vs Logan Paul

Paul promised everybody that he wouldn't use his infamous brass knuckles, but I think everybody watching in Saudi Arabia, and at home, knew that promise was going to broken. He even went as far as to give his "only pair" of brass knuckles to WWE commentator Michael Cole. Rhodes was struggling with an injury to his midsection throughout the match, and Paul made things more difficult as he gave him a shot to the ribs with his brass knuckles. This caused a face-off with announcer Michael Cole, who stood up and called Paul a "liar." This was broken up by co-commentator Corey Graves, and the match continued.

At one point in the match, something you don't see very often in the WWE happened. Rhodes was inside of the ring, while Paul was on the outside floor. The referee was at a count of eight and Paul was not moving, giving Rhodes a sure count-out victory. As the ref counted nine, Rhodes grabbed his arm and told him to stop counting because he wanted to beat Paul the right way.

After that, Paul gave a frog splash to Rhodes through the announcer table. Once back in the ring, both Rhodes and Paul accidentally hit the referee, which caused him to be out. While the ref was out, Paul lowblowed Rhodes and pulled his brass knuckles out from earlier. As he went to hit Rhodes, special guest ring announcer Ibrahim Al Hajjaj grabbed his leg. That led to three "Cross Rhodes" on Paul by Rhodes for a win and another successful title defense.
