Writing a Song About Your Pet Using Music AI Is About to Be the Next Trend

I'm the sort of pet parent who sings made up songs to my three cats and one dog basically all day long. My cat uses the litter box? They get a song. My dog barks at the UPS guy? Song for him. I can't stop, won't stop.

But now I have a handy dandy tool that makes my song writing that much better because I have enlisted the help of SUNO, an amazing music generator where I can say a few things about a pet I know and love and get my very own anthem created for them in like 10 seconds. So for National Pet Day I'm writing songs for all the pets.

Here's a song I wrote for my cat Tarkus, who throws up. A lot. 

Some of the amazing lyrics are "Tarkus The feline with an attitude Throws up a lot It's his daily interlude With a coat of orange He prowls the night Leaving a trail of vomit that's quite the sight.." You can listen to this amazing jam here.

Here is a song a wrote about my editor's dog Tito. 

Now, this is an epic power ballad. It mentions how Tito is a rescue dog and his dog mom, Mary, really (like really, really) loves wine. The lyrics are "Shout it out Mary's got a message to spread (ooh-yeah) Adopt a dog Give them love and a bed (ooh-yeah) They're the best companions Always there for you Mary says "Love It's a paw-some thing to do!"

I'm sort of annoyed my Grammy hasn't shown up at my door yet. Anyway!

Here's a song for our dog Kingston. 

Here's our dog Kingston, and if you're not taking stupid, super up-close photos of your pets what are you even doing with your life? Kingston's song goes "Oh Kingston, Little ball of might, Loves cats and can't stand his nails being clipped tight, He's got attitude and a bark that's loud But underneath it all, He's a loyal friend that's proud." This is a bop, all right.

Here's a song for my brother-in-law's dog Iggy. 

So my brother-in-law is a big metal fan so his dog Iggy gets a metal song. The lyrics are, in part, "His dad A beer-loving headbanger with a roar Injects metal into Iggy's core Rescue dog with a heart of steel Ready to mosh to every grinding squeal." Also, notice how the music generator can't pronounce 'Dio' which is amusing me to no end.
