Wrestling: Schedules and key info for Region 5 districts (17, 18, 19, 20)

The individual wrestling postseason begins Saturday with 32 districts across the state in competition following the team group finals last weekend. The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the region tournaments on Feb. 23-24.

From there, the top four finishers in each weight class advance to the state tournament at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Feb. 29, March 1 and 2.

Four districts comprise a region. Here is all the information fans need to know for Region 5 – Districts 17, 18, 19, 20. Info for Region 4 can be found here.

Fans should note that depending on the district, cash or credit cards may not be accepted.

The districts include teams from Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Monmouth and Morris.

DISTRICT 17

Location: Middletown South

Schools: Bound Brook, Delbarton, Franklin, Hopewell Valley, Manville, Middletown South, Montgomery, Princeton, West Windsor-Plainsboro North, West Windsor-Plainsboro South

Approximate Schedule (subject to change and can run early or late): Preliminaries followed by quarterfinals 10 a.m.; Semifinals 12-1 p.m. range followed by third-place matches; Finals (one mat) 3-4 p.m. range

Admission: All-Day pass – Adults $15 and Students/Seniors $10. Finals Only – Adults $7 and Students/Seniors $5

DISTRICT 18

Location: Middletown North

Schools: Edison, Howell, Metuchen, Middletown North, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Piscataway, Sayreville, Woodbridge

Approximate Schedule (subject to change and can run early or late): Preliminaries followed by quarterfinals 10 a.m.; Semifinals 12-1 p.m. range followed by third-place matches; Finals (one mat) 3-4 p.m

Admission: All-Day pass – Adults $15 and Students/Seniors $10. Finals Only – Adults $7 and Students/Seniors $5

DISTRICT 19

Location: Matawan

Schools: Hillsborough, Holmdel, Keansburg, Keyport/Henry Hudson, Marlboro, Matawan, Raritan, Red Bank Regional, Rutgers Prep

Approximate Schedule (subject to change and can run early or late): Preliminaries, 10 a.m.; Quarterfinals 10:30 a.m.; Semifinals 12:30 a.m.; Third-place matches 1:30 p.m.; Finals 2 p.m.

Admission: All-Day Passes – Adults $15 and Students/Senior Citizens $10. Finals Only –Adults $7, Students/Senior Citizens $5

DISTRICT 20

Location: East Brunswick’s Churchill Junior High School

Schools: East Brunswick, Highland Park, Monroe, North Brunswick, Old Bridge, Red Bank Catholic, Rumson-Fair Haven, South Brunswick, South River, Spotswood

Approximate Schedule (subject to change and can run early or late): Preliminaries start at 11 a.m. followed by the 11:30 quarterfinals; Semifinals 1:30 pm.; Third-place matches 2:30 p.m.; Finals 3 p.m.

Admission: All-Day passes only – Adults $10 and Students/Senior Citizens $5
