‘Worst bedroom’ ever? Room in this Kentucky house for sale has folks saying ‘oh no’

Screen grab from Zillow

As the overused saying goes, never judge a book by its cover, and likewise, never judge a house by its exterior.

One such home has managed to stick to the latter tenfold and has some folks all in a tizzy once they glance at the interior photos.

The residence — which is listed for $249,500 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky — has a very pleasant outside and sits on half an acre. And when peering at the pictures of the 3,048-square-foot home, it really doesn’t get unusual until the bedroom photos pop up.

The primary bedroom appears to be a combo of both a bedroom and bathroom, with a hot tub mere inches from the bed itself.

Oh, and the bed is on a platform so good luck trying to hop down in the dark without tearing your ACL.

Otherwise, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom house is perfectly pleasant and unsuspecting with features that include:

  • Two car garage

  • “Exquisite woodwork and cabinetry”

  • Two living rooms

  • Two fireplaces

  • Dining room

  • “Move-in ready”

The residence caught the attention of fans of Tuesday Night Zillow (normally called Friday Night Zillow), a Twitter segment that’s run by Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis which highlights unique houses for sale.

“After a nationwide search, we may have found the worst bedroom on Earth,” Dennis said in the first tweet of the thread.

And people were transfixed.

It looks like it’s in a mobile home which is actually mobile,” one person said.

“Oh no,” another tweeted.

What’s happening here? Kitchen sink for the hot tub?” someone pointed out. “Inches from the window and the walls of the shower they added?? The ceiling by that window is stressing me out.”

It would only take a few days for me to break a bone getting out of that bed... why did you need a stage just for the bed??” one person asked.

That sound you hear is me screaming because I stubbed my toe on the platforms or rolled my ankle getting out of bed,” another noted.

I’ve seen this same setup a few times on Zillow Gone Wild and wondered why would anyone think this is a good idea. Save steps? Serious separation anxiety? No boundaries? Really love open floor plans?” someone asked. “The questions are endless.”

Catlettsburg is about 115 miles northeast of Lexington.
