As the World Turns alums Cady McClain and Jon Lindstrom are going their separate ways.

The couple took to social media to make the announcement over the weekend, uploading a note for inquiring fans.

“We are taking this opportunity to make a short statement about our relationship status. It may be obvious to some based on our posts that we’ve taken some time apart,” the duo shared in a joint Instagram statement on Saturday, April 27.

“After serious consideration we have decided that our goals have been taking us in different directions and to end our marriage,” it explained.

McClain and Lindstrom met while both starring on the CBS soap opera as love interests, with the former playing Rosanna Cabot from 2002-2005 before taking a hiatus and returning from 2007-2010. Meanwhile, Lindstrom's Craig Montgomery appeared on the show from 2008-2010.

The pair married in Feb. 2014, announcing the divorce a decade after tying the knot.

However, it seems they're aiming to split amicably, communicating that they're still "friends."

"We remain friends and wish each other every happiness. As people who work in the public eye, it can be difficult to have a private life," the social media upload continued, before adding, "Regardless, we ask for your kind consideration in this matter."

Just days before publicly sharing the news that they decided to split their paths, McClain re-shared a poignant message via Instagram.

"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place," the quote by Paulo Coelho read.
