The World’s Largest Blockchain Encyclopedia integrates AI and rebrands from Everipedia to IQ.wiki

With Bitcoin 2023, the world’s largest Bitcoin Conference coming to Miami Beach in May, interest in cryptocurrency is rising again. Miami-Dade County is becoming a hub for blockchain technology, events, and education.

The world’s largest blockchain encyclopedia, Everipedia.org, has undergone a rebranding and now operates as IQ.wiki on the Polygon blockchain. The new name reflects the central role of the IQ token and blockchain technology in the platform. The IQ token is a cryptocurrency dedicated to building a more intelligent future through artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. IQ token stakers govern the platform and earn rewards.

Earlier this month, IQ.wiki became one of the first encyclopedias and decentralized applications to integrate artificial intelligence. IQ.wiki uses OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model for tasks including summarizing wiki articles.

Distilling complex wiki articles into concise 256-character summaries is a time-consuming and challenging task, however, GPT-3, allows 5000-word IQ.wiki articles like their page on Bored Ape Yacht Club to be summarized in seconds. These summaries are then used by search engines like Google.

Everipedia was founded in 2014 as “everyone’s encyclopedia” before becoming the world’s first blockchain encyclopedia in 2018 when it launched its IQ token after raising $30 million from Galaxy Digital. In 2020, the Everipedia team continued its focus on blockchain innovation developing OraQles, a service that allows verified first parties to bring real-world information on-chain. On November 4, 2020, The Associated Press used the software to publish U.S. election race calls on Ethereum marking the first time a US election ever was called on the blockchain.

In addition to the rebrand, IQ.wiki has introduced several new features that are designed for the blockchain community. For full transparency, every edit or change to the encyclopedia will be recorded on the Polygon blockchain with the transaction hash stored on-chain. The data and images uploaded as part of each wiki are stored on the IPFS network and the hashes are included on each page for the users to verify. IQ.wiki pages on cryptocurrencies, NFT projects, and exchanges automatically pull statistics from Coingecko and other sites.

IQ.wiki Chief Brain Navin Vethanayagam explained the reason why Everipedia rebranded to IQ.wiki:

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen content and editorship on Everipedia move toward the blockchain space, especially after the launch of the IQ token. The renaming of Everipedia to IQ.wiki was done to reflect this. Though it’s the same site we decided to rename Everipedia to IQ.wiki to show how the IQ token and blockchain technology are central to the platform.”

IQ.wiki Chief Technology Officer, Cesar Rodriguez, explained why they decided to move IQ.wiki to Polygon:

“We decided to bring IQ.wiki to Polygon, the leading Ethereum scaling solution, to ensure that the platform is at the heart of the Ethereum ecosystem and can scale to support large numbers of contributors.”
