Wondering who to vote for? League of Women Voters offers Tri-Cities candidate forums

If you’re still on the fence about who to vote for in local races when ballots go out later this month, there’s good news.

The League of Women’s Voters will be hosting a series of candidate forums covering local races.

The LWV of Benton and Franklin Counties General Election Forums will be broadcast locally from Oct. 17 to 20. They will air at 7 p.m. each day, and rerun later in the evening.

The forums will cover races for state representatives, state senate seats, county commission and the Benton County prosecutor race. There also is a forum for the Pasco School District 3 seat.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to building informed and active participation in government. Candidates will be asked to discuss a variety of issues important to local voters.

Ballots will be in mailboxes by Oct. 21, and the deadline for online and mail-in registration is Oct. 31. Registration and voting in person are available until 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.

The LWV wants to remind voters to be sure their signature matches their driver’s license and to put a phone number on the ballot envelope in case the elections office needs to contact you.
