Find out who won Daily Leader Athlete of the Week poll for April 29-May 4

Another high vote count was tallied as readers had their input in the Athlete of the Week. Garnering the most votes was Rylee Galloway of the Prairie Central softball team as she overwhelmed the field to be voted the Pontiac Daily Leader's Athlete of the Week for the week of April 29-May 4.

Galloway was the offensive leader for Prairie Central’s softball team with four doubles, five singles and eight runs batted in.

Galloway brought in 6,418 votes, which was 45.17% of the overall total on the Athlete of the Week poll this week. Maria Long of Pontiac came in second with 4,493 votes (31.62%). Jaxson Goodrich of Lexington was placed third at 926 (12.89%) votes. There were 14,210 votes cast.

The rest of the nominees were Izabelle Behrends of Prairie Central, Dwight’s Luke Gallet and Averi Jury, Morgan Seggerman of El Paso-Gridley and Pontiac’s Elena Krause and Jeremy Melton.
