No. 1 South Carolina looks to claim the the top overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Women's Tournament for the third consecutive year after an undefeated season and SEC Women's Tournament championship. So who will fill the remaining 36 spots? That will be revealed Sunday night on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET during the NCAA Women's Tournament selection show.

NCAA Women's Tournament 2024 bracket

The full field of 68 will be released on Sunday during the NCAA Women's Tournament Selection Show on ESPN. The NCAA Tournament consists of 32 automatic qualifiers from conference champions and 36 at-large teams that the NCAA Tournament selection committee selects.

South Carolina looks to become the 10th team — and the first team since UConn in 2016 — in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to go undefeated for an entire season. The Gamecock, who are a perfect 32-0 on the season, are currently the favorites on BetMGM, with odds at -120, to hoist the national championship trophy.

2024 NCAA Women's Tournament schedule

  • Start date: Wednesday, March 20 (First Four)

  • End date: Sunday, April 7 (NCAA championship game)

The 2024 NCAA Women's Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 20 with the First Four. First-round games will begin Friday, March 22 and end on Monday, March 25. The regional weekend will begin Friday, March 29 and run through Monday, April 1 either in Albany, New York or Portland, Oregon.

The Final Four begins Friday, April 5 in Cleveland. The NCAA championship game takes place on Sunday, April 7 inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
