Woman's Life Insurance Society is hoping to expand its resources and outreach with its intention to merge with another Midwestern fraternal organization.

Woman's Life has announced its intention to merge with Trusted Fraternal Life, a Milwaukee-based fraternal life insurance organization. Woman's Life National President Chris Martin said the organization is excited for this opportunity to merge as it has given the organization the ability to address some strategic visions.

"Our founder had a bold vision to create a fraternal benefit society 130 years ago to help women and their families build a secure financial future," Martin said. "We are excited for this new bold step into the future for our organization and the value it can bring to our customers."

Woman's Life has not yet officially joined Trusted Fraternal Life. The organization first must go through a regulatory period, which means notifying its members at least 60 days before the merger is official. If successful, the merger will become effective on July 1. Upon approval, Woman's Life will be the first fraternal to join the Trusted Fraternal Life family.

Upon a successful merger, Woman's Life will become a brand under Trusted Fraternal Life but will continue to run under its own name. Its board of directors will then serve in an advisory capacity for the Woman's Life brand, with one board member being elected to the Trusted Fraternal Life Board of Directors.

Trusted Fraternal Life was created in March by Catholic Financial Life. CEO John Borgan said Trusted Fraternal Life is excited to continue the history, legacy and tradition of Woman's Life while also investing in its growth.

By joining Trusted Fraternal Life, Woman's Life will have access to more products and services, advanced technology and expanded distribution to assist more women and their families. Borgan said one of the exciting things about the merge is the opportunity for Trusted Fraternal Life to invest in Woman's Life.

"We are going to be investing in growing Woman's Life with technology, services, increased brand awareness and making a greater impact on local communities," Borgan said.

Martin said Woman's Life is financially strong and merging with Trusted Fraternal Life will make them even stronger for its customers. He said Woman's Life's core values and Midwestern roots align very well with Trusted Fraternal Life.

"We are excited that the legacy, brand and mission of Woman's Life will continue while gaining additional financial strength, more access to technology and getting the best-in-class products and services to benefit our members," Martin said.

The merger between Woman's Life and Trusted Fraternal Life were unanimous decisions for both of its board of directors. Both organizations are focused on making positive impacts in local communities and providing valuable services to their members.
