Woman in wheelchair cited after colliding with school bus at busy Canton intersection

CANTON ‒ A 64-year-old woman in a wheelchair was suspected of having minor injuries after a collision with a Canton City School bus at 12th Street and Market Avenue N on Monday afternoon.

The Canton Police Department crash report says the woman failed to yield the right-of-way while moving west on Market outside the crosswalk.

The southbound yellow school bus hit her.

She was cited for jaywalking.

Canton Fire Department medics took her to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.

No injury was reported to the bus driver, a 66-year-old Sandy Township woman, or her 60-year-old female passenger.

The crash was reported at 3:57 p.m.
