Before Diane Lynn Sweeney died “suddenly and unexpectedly,” she expressed a “humorous last wish” with her loved ones, according to her online obituary.

Now as family members prepare for her funeral in Oklahoma, they also prepare to give away her car in a “unique celebration.”

“Honoring the Final Wish of Diane Sweeney, her family will be selecting a name at random from those who attend her funeral and sign the guest book,” Resthaven Funeral Home shared on Facebook. “The lucky person will receive Diane’s late model Volkswagen Beetle or comparable make and model once her estate is settled.”

A niece of the late 68-year-old woman told KFOR she had expressed this wish for years prior to her death.

“‘When I pass away, I’d like you to raffle up my car at the funeral, must be present to win,’” Suzanne Singleterry recalled her saying.

But it’s legally a little tricky, Singleterry told KFOR, which is why the winner might receive a similar model and not her actual vehicle.

“When the estate settles, at which point we’ll sign over the title, should anything come in the way, I will personally buy a like item, make, year and model and we will see her wish through 100%,” nephew Ricky Ingram told the Oklahoma outlet.

For a chance to win, be sure to attend Diane’s funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in South Oklahoma City and sign the guest book.

Immediate family members and Resthaven staff are not eligible to win, according to the funeral home.
