Woman couldn’t sleep, so she checks Missouri lottery numbers. ‘Thought I was dreaming’

Someone needed to pinch a Missouri woman who thought she was dreaming after realizing she won a lottery jackpot.

The St. Louis woman recently claimed her $230,000 prize after winning big in Missouri Lottery’s Show Me Cash game.

The Missouri Lottery said in a Sept. 26 news release the woman purchased her ticket at a convenience store in St. Louis ahead of the Sept. 8 drawing.

“I had went out celebrating the night before with girlfriends, and I couldn’t sleep that night,” she told lottery officials. “I got up and I was like, ‘Well, let me just check my lottery numbers.’ So I thought I was dreaming!”

The $230,000 win gives her and her friends plenty more reason to celebrate.

She said she plays Show Me Cash when the jackpot gets high, and she won using the same numbers she’s used for two years — 1, 8, 14, 16 and 39.

Show Me Cash costs $1 to play, and the jackpot begins at $50,000 and grows daily until someone wins. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1-in-575,757.

The estimated Sept. 27 jackpot is $389,000.
