WNC high school spring sports top performers from Week 5, including several hat tricks

Here are the Western North Carolina athletes who had an outstanding performance this week in spring sports.

Baseball

Riley Anderson, Brevard: Anderson hit the game-winning two-home run in a 5-4 win vs. Enka.

Peyton Maybin, North Henderson: Maybin struck out seven batters in a shutout 11-0 win vs. Franklin.

Reno Jeter, Roberson: Jeter struck out eight batters while allowing only two hits in 4 2/3 innings in an 8-0 win vs. North Buncombe.

Amos Rich, Tuscola: Rich went 2-4 with a home run and four RBIs in an 8-0 win vs. East Henderson.

Softball

Sadie Jo Hunter, North Buncombe: Hunter struck out 18 batters in a 1-0 shutout vs. Enka.

Peyton Whitson, North Buncombe: Whitson went 2-4 with an RBI, driving in the game-winning run.

Savannah Hollingsworth, Owen: Hollingsworth went 1-3 with a home run and four RBIs in a 10-0 win vs. Mountain Heritage.

Sophie Neal, Owen: Neal struck out five batters while allowing one hit and three walks in a shutout.

Autumn Edmonds, Reynolds: Edmonds went 3-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs in a 9-8 win vs. Robbinsville.

Girls Soccer

Lily Foo, Asheville High: Foo recorded a hat trick in a 5-2 win vs. Roberson.

Amber Hernandez, Madison: Hernandez scored a hat trick in a 3-1 win vs. Mountain Heritage.

Eliza Jackson, North Buncombe: Jackson scored two goals in a 4-0 win vs. Mitchell.

Maggie McCammon and Maggie Johnson, Polk County: McCammon and Johnson combined to make 15 saves in a 2-0 win vs. Highlands.

Katelynn Ciolek, Reynolds: Ciolek tallied two goals in a 4-0 win vs. Erwin.

Mason Gasperson, North Henderson: Gasperson went 3-5 with a double and five RBIs in a 14-4 win vs. Franklin.

Grady Lewis, Swain County: Lewis went 1-3 with a home run and four RBIs in a 16-0 win vs. Cherokee.

Amos Rich, Tuscola: Rich went 2-2 with a home run and four RBIs in an 11-9 win vs. East Henderson.

Softball

Emma Payne, Enka: Payne went 3-3 with a home run and four RBIs in an 8-4 win vs. Robbinsville.

Samantha Reese, Enka: Reese went 2-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

Savannah Dickerson, Pisgah: Dickerson went 3-5 with a home run and three RBIs in a 15-9 win vs. Tuscola.

Rylee Rawls, Swain County: Rawls struck out 10 batters in an 8-0 shutout win vs. Cherokee.

Girls Soccer

Amber Hernandez, Madison: Hernandez had two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win vs. Avery County.

Ashley Ramirez-Limon, North Buncombe: Ramirez-Limon recorded two goals in a 3-1 win vs. McDowell.

Aria Giles, Roberson: Giles scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-0 win vs. Enka.
