According to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, here's how to improve your credit score:
Pay your loans on time: You can set up automatic payments, or set electronic reminders to pay bills on time.
Don't get close to your credit limit: Credit scoring models analyze how much of your credit limit you're using, so try to keep you balances low compared to the total credit limit.
Long credit histories will improve score: Credit scores are also based on experience over time.
Only apply for credit you need: If you apply for lots of credit over a short period of time, it may appear as if your economic circumstances have changed negatively.
