Winter weather advisory issued for Cincinnati region: How much snow will we get?

It's going to be a winter wonderland Monday in Cincinnati.

According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a winter weather advisory is in place throughout the region from 10 a.m. Monday morning until 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Some intense snow squalls will also be possible. Be cautious of rapidly changing visibilities and hazardous driving conditions, especially Monday evening.

How much snow is predicted for Cincinnati?

Numerous snow showers are expected during this period, with total accumulations of a half to one inch locally. Wind gusts will be as high as 40 mph.

When will we see snow showers?

The precipitation is expected to start as scattered rain at about 8 a.m. and shift to snow through the afternoon. The highest probability of snow is between 1 and 2 p.m. Snow remains likely through the evening

High pressure and a dry airmass will build into the region through mid-week. Cold conditions will continue through Tuesday before temperatures begin to moderate later in the week.

The next chance for precipitation will occur on Friday, with repeated rain chances.

Monday night: Scattered snow showers, mainly before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
