Who Will Win 'Dancing with the Stars' 2023?

Ariana Madix, Pasha Pashkov, Alyson Hannigan, Sasha Farber, Xochitl Gomez, Val Chmerkovskiy, Charity Lawson, Artem Chigvintsev, Daniella Karagach, Jason Mraz

Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars will see the presentation of the recently renamed Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on Tuesday night’s finale, which will expand to a three-hour competition with lots of special guests, including a performance by last season’s winners Charli D’Amelio and pro Mark Ballas.

But who will walk away with said glittering trophy? In a surprise move during the semi-final elimination, all five couples were relieved to discover that no one was going home. So, the five remaining couples are the same as they were for the semi-finals: Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy, Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber, Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev, Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov, and Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach.

Of these, Alyson and Pasha are the long shot underdogs. They truly expected to go home on Tuesday night, and as far as judges’ points go, they should have been the couple eliminated if there was an elimination.

But as we know from past years, it isn’t just the judges’ scores that matter, it’s the viewers at home voting that is 50 percent of the tally, and Alyson has a large social media following, which is what has kept her in the competition thus far.

Plus, Alyson is the perfect example of the type of star that should be on Dancing with the Stars. She is someone who came in with absolutely no dance experience or anything related like cheerleading or martial arts, and she has worked hard and improved each week.

That said, the likelihood of her winning is slim to none. The even money is on Xochitl and Val. During the semi-finals, Xochitl was the only competitor to be awarded perfect scores for both of her dances: a Samba to “Samba” by Gloria Estefan and a Waltz to “La Vie en Rose” by Lady Gaga.

She also has the added advantage of dancing with one of the most popular pros and best choreographers on the show. Val has twice previously won: He won in 2015 while partnered with Rumer Willis, and in 2016 with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.

And then there’s the age factor. Voters like the young contestants as was evidenced last season when Charli beat out fellow finalists Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy, Wayne Brady and Witney Carson, and Shangela and Gleb Savchenko.

But this season, maybe more than any other, the competition is tough, and you can’t completely discount Ariana and Jason. Jason has been up and down this season, but the last two weeks he made a strong comeback and Ariana has had a steady climb to getting awarded her first perfect score for her foxtrot on Tuesday night.

As impressive as that is, Jason and Charity also each were awarded perfect scores for one of their dances. Jason for his paso doble and Charity for her quickstep. Like Ariana, it was Charity’s first perfect score as well.

To date, three former Bachelorettes have won the Mirrorball trophy: Hannah Brown, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Melissa Rycroft because Bachelor Nation is very loyal in its voting habits. But Charity hasn’t been as strong in the competition as early as either Hannah or Kaitlyn, and her social media numbers are not as strong as Xochitl, Ariana or Jason, so her chances of winning aren’t strong.

Who will win Dancing with the Stars season 32?

Prediction: The winner of season 32 of Dancing with the Stars will be Xochitl and Val—barring any problems with her dances on Tuesday night, but if someone steals it, it would be either Ariana or Jason, both of who have strong social media followings, both of who are paired with excellent choreographers and have had excellent judges’ scores this season, just not quite as good as Xochitl.
