Willie Geist, Steve Kornacki Will Join NBC’s Paris Olympics Coverage
NBC is adding a new event to its coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics: Steve Kornacki in front of his big board.
Kornacki, who is known for his deft on-the-fly analysis of political campaigns and races, will turn his focus for a short period of time to athletic competition in Paris as part of a cadre of NBC News journalists who will present some coverage of the extravaganza, Willie Geist, Sam Brock, Gadi Schwartz and Anne Thompson will also participate, with Kornacki offering analysis from the U.S., and his colleagues on the ground in France. The Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics is Friday, July 26 on NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo.

The roster of reporters will also include Kira K. Dixon from NBC Sports and Golf Channel and Naoki Funayama from NBC affiliate WCVB in Boston.
“We are excited to have an experienced group of reporters out in the city to capture the energy, excitement, and allure of Paris, as well as the important news that always surrounds the Games,” said Rebecca Chatman, vice president and coordinating producer of NBC Olympics Production.
NBCUniversal has been working for month to weave its coming Olympics telecast into many aspects of its programming — and with good reason. NBCU and its corporate parent, Comcast, have committed to pay $7.75 billion for U.S. broadcast rights for the Olympics between 2021 and 2032. NBC has been promoting the Paris Olympics for months, tapping famous faces like Megan Thee Stallion, Peyton Manning and Dolly Parton, with executives betting that the Paris locale means NBCU will have fewer time-zones to navigate compared to recent efforts that have sent the company to big cities in Asia.
Dixon is making her debut appearance at the Olympics. Brock, Geist, Funayama, Kornacki, Schwartz and Thompson have covered multiple Olympics for NBC.
