Update: 4 firefighters treated for heat illness in Auberry-area fire. Evacuation warnings issued

Four firefighters were treated for heat-related issues and transported to area hospitals Tuesday as they fought a wildfire near Auberry in eastern Fresno County.

By Tuesday night, the Powerhouse Fire had burned 115 acres and was 25% contained, said CalFire spokesman John Dominguez.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation warnings for the fire after it erupted at 3:15 p.m.

Earlier, officials said 150 acres had burned by 5 p.m. as the fire spread to the southeast, but Dominguez reduced estimates of the acreage burned.

The area impacted by the warnings included Powerhouse Road from a quarter mile north of Wish I Ah Road to the Fresno-Madera county line. The north, east, and west borders are the San Joaquin River.

The California Highway Patrol closed roadways near the fire to facilitate the movement of heavy equipment.
