Wild West Shootout: Kyle Larson part of star-studded field at Vado Speedway Park
Big-time dirt track racing will return to Vado Speedway Park this week, as NASCAR and dirt-track racing star Kyle Larson will lead a large contingent of dirt Late Model stars to Las Cruces for a week’s worth of racing.
The 18th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout will hit the track for six nights of racing, culminating in a grand finale on Jan. 14 that features the winner receiving a $25,000 winner’s share as drivers will be vying for more than $320,000 in prize money.
Here is a look at this year’s event, including how to attend and watch the races, and who will be taking to the track for a chance at the winner’s checks.

How much are tickets?
Fans can purchase single-day reserved grandstand tickets for $30 on Jan. 6-7, 10, 12-13, and $35 on Saturday, January 14 for the event’s finale. Fans can also purchase a six-day reserved seat package for $155.

Who will be competing in the Wild West Shootout?
Larson is one of the headliners for the event as he competed at Vado Speedway Park in last year’s Wild West Shootout, but the NASCAR star will be part of a star-studded contingent of dirt-track racing Late Model drivers.
Among this year’s expected competitors are reigning World of Outlaws champion Bobby Pierce from Illinois, along with stars Mike Marlar (Tennessee) and Brandon Sheppard (Illinois). Pierce also won the 2023 Wild West Shootout finale. Among the local drivers expected to compete are New Mexico’s Stormy Scott and Garrett Alberson.
