Wild STI-Swapped 911 GT3 Is What SEMA Is All AboutEneos

SEMA is known for bringing out the wildest custom builds out there, and 2022 is no exception. This Subaru boxer-engine-swapped Porsche 911 GT3 "STI" is the craziest we've seen so far. Purists are not going to like this one.

Built by DevSpeed Motorsports in collaboration with Eneos, this car started off life as a 2007 Porsche 911 GT3. According to the builders, the car was crashed, stripped of its drivetrain and acquired as a rolling shell. That fact should relieve a bit of the heat we're sure Porsche fanatics are about to give them.

Aside from the shell, pretty much everything else is brand-new. The star of the show is, of course, the engine. It's an EJ25 flat-four from a 2008 Impreza STI, upgraded with a new BorgWarner turbo, along with better fuel injectors, a high-performance intercooler and a custom exhaust system. Power gets to the rear wheels via the STI's six-speed gearbox. The engine makes an estimated 550 hp and weighs 170 pounds less than the original flat-six, according to Eneos.

The body panels are new too, widened GT3R replicas from a company in the U.K. called VAD Design. They're wide enough to shield the gigantic 19-inch Rotiform wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxies R888R tires. Behind those, you'll find BC Racing adjustable coilovers.

Inside the GT3 STI there's a stripped-down cabin with a bare-bones dashboard, a funky steering wheels, carbon fiber bucket seats, and a CNC-bent roll cage. There's also an air jack system that operates at 130 psi for quick raising and lowering of the car.

We're sure some of you think this GT3 should've been restored to its former, totally stock glory. But we disagree. There are plenty of factory-standard GT3s out there, and it's not very often you see one get as modified as this. Plus, it looks cool, and probably goes quickly. What's not to like?
