A ‘Wild’ Jimmy Garoppolo Rumor Was Heard At NFL Combine

Where is Jimmy Garoppolo going to play in 2022?

The San Francisco 49ers have yet to make a move with their starting quarterback, but they are widely expected to move on from Jimmy G. and begin the Trey Lance era in 2022.

Garoppolo has been mentioned for a couple of different teams, but one surprising trade destination could be emerging.

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler shared the “wild” Garoppolo rumor he heard at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

“The wildest rumor I heard this week? Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo potentially pairing with New Orleans,” Fowler wrote. “This would be a surprise since many around the league expect Jameis Winston to return to the Saints. But if Rodgers and Wilson aren’t moved, Garoppolo becomes one of the top options available. Maybe New Orleans at least kicks this idea around.”

The Saints are in need of a quarterback, so maybe this isn’t that wild.

Still, New Orleans is expected to look into bringing back Jameis Winston. If that doesn’t happen, perhaps they’ll make a move for Garoppolo.
