If you’re a remote worker who moves around, you may want to consider Wichita as one of your stops.

A new report lists Wichita as one of the best cities for digital nomads.

The report from Incfile, a online business formation and startup services company, analyzed 100 of the largest cities in the U.S. for digital nomads based on the cost of living, broadband internet strength, walkability, transit scores and average temperatures, a news release from the company said.

Wichita ranked number three on the top 10 list of best cities for digital nomads.

Digital nomads are described as “someone who performs their occupation entirely over the internet while traveling,” according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “They may work remotely for years or weeks and months.”

According to Incfile’s studies, Wichita is a good place to become a digital nomad after college.

“Wichita is home to the lowest average rent for a one-bedroom apartment as well as the lowest Airbnb rate of the cities we studied, making it a perfect place for recent graduates who want to explore the country (or start an LLC in Kansas) without breaking the bank,” according to an Incfile blog.

Toledo, Ohio ranked as the best overall for digital nomads; Riverside, California ranked as the worst, the report said.

Six out of the 10 best cities for digital nomads are in the Midwest, while six of the 10 worst cities are in California. The top 10 best and worst cities can be viewed here.

The pandemic triggered a “remote work revolution.” Between 2019 and 2021, the number of digital nomads increased from 7.3 million to 15.5 million. An estimated 1 billion people are expected to become digital nomads by 2035, according to Incfile.

“With remote work becoming more of the norm, our customers [digital nomads] constantly tell us they want to experience as much of the country as possible, said Incfile chief growth officer and co-CEO Dustin Ray.
