Why 'Selling Sunset' Star Christine Quinn's Husband Filed a Restraining Order Against Her

Christian Dumontet and Christine Quinn

Updated on March 27.

Christine Quinn, who stars in Netflix's hit reality TV series Selling Sunset, is now facing a restraining order from her husband, Christian Dumontet, only days after he was arrested twice in Los Angeles.

The tech entrepreneur filed a restraining order against his wife that requested she move out of their Los Angeles home and stay 300 feet (100 yards) away from the property, as stated in court documents obtained by People.

Along with this, Dumontet asked the judge to limit Quinn's travel with their 3-year-old son Christian, stating that he is afraid she will “abduct” him. He further claimed Quinn “has a history of threatening to take away or hide our children from me.” Despite this request, Dumontet would allow his wife joint custody of their son and unmonitored visitation, while also asking for travel plans and documents for him in the future.

Dumontet also denied the allegations of domestic abuse relating to his recent arrests, claiming that there were never “incidents of domestic violence within the relationship.” It also dictated what Dumontet said happened before his first arrest on Tuesday, March 19.

According to him, the couple got into an argument over Quinn's dogs which "she refuses to have house or crate trained." Dumontet claimed that he often cleans up after them, writing in the court documents that it happens so frequently "that operating and cleaning the remote vacuum cleaner has become a bonding activity between himself and 3-year-old Christian."

After the couple started arguing about this on March 19, Dumontet said he "grabbed the trash bag from the floor and threw it to the side of the room, against the wall," but stated that he did not throw it at his wife or son. The documents also claimed that there was "no glass in the bag," referencing the report after his arrest.

At the time, People reported that the LAPD said Dumontet “threw a bag containing a glass bottle" at his wife, allegedly missing Quinn and hitting their son. The 3-year-old was reportedly treated on site by paramedics and Dumontet was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Only a day after his first arrest, Dumontet was arrested again for reportedly violating an emergency protective order granted to Quinn.

As of writing, Quinn has not publicly responded to the restraining order from her husband.

Soon after Dumontet's restraining order request was first reported, court records obtained by Page Six stated that a judge denied the restraining order on Tuesday, March 26, until a court hearing scheduled for April 17, when more will be decided.
