Why these Nashville hotels are ranked among the best and most luxurious in the U.S.
Travelers looking to spend some time in the country music capital of the world have an abundance of options when it comes to choosing accommodations. From historic hotels to themed Airbnb's, the choices on where to stay in Nashville are abundant.
But among the vast sea of hotels in Music City, three stand out among the rest. The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel, 1 Hotel Nashville and JW Marriott Nashville have just been named as the "Best of The Best Hotels" in the United States by Tripadvisor, as part of their Travelers’ Choice Awards 2024.
Tripadvisor's Travelers’ Choice Awards highlight travelers' favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, things to do, and more across the globe. Winners are chosen based on reviews and opinions left by Tripadvisor travelers over a 12-month period.
The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel was named among one of the "Best of The Best Hotels" while 1 Hotel Nashville and JW Marriott Nashville were named among the "Most Luxurious."
At The Joseph, guests are immersed in the world of fine art. The Joseph features over 1,100 rare art pieces, refined Italian dining and spacious suites. The Joseph offers five dining options: Yolan, the hotel's signature Italian restaurant which The Joseph describes as "a love letter to Italy," The Bar at The Joseph, Four Walls cocktail bar, Coffee Bar and Cafe at The Joseph, and Denim, a rooftop bar. According to Tripadvisor, guests most love the pool, salon and rooftop bar.
The pet-friendly JW Marriott, located in Downtown Nashville, offers skyline views from every hotel room, allowing guests to catch a glimpse of everything the city has to offer. The JW Marriott features a rooftop pool, a full service spa, and a 24-hour fitness center. In 2023, Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak was named as one of the best fine dining restaurants in the country by Tripadvisor. Bourbon Steak is located on the 34th floor of the JW Marriott. According to Tripadvisor, guests love JW Marriott's pool, rooftop bar and concierge services.
Just a few hundred feet from JW Marriott Nashville is 1 Hotel Nashville, where an emphasis is placed on "sustainable luxury." Upon arriving, guests are greeted with thousands of plants growing on an ivy facade. The plants permit heat to migrate from the sidewalks, generate fresh air and allow the hotel to avoid using fertilizers, said 1 Hotel. Guests at 1 Hotel Nashville are also able to enjoy meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients at one of their three spaces: 1 Kitchen, Neighbors and Harriet's Rooftop. According to Tripadvisor, guests love the light therapy, rooftop bar and rooftop terrace.

What are the Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice awards?
The Travelers’ Choice awards are divided into two categories, "Best of the Best" and "Travelers’ Choice." Best of the Best is the highest honor, said Tripadvisor.
The Best of the Best award considers the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings, then ranks the superior accommodations, destinations, beaches, restaurants, and things to do in specific categories and geographic areas, as rated and reviewed by travelers. Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best award winners are among the top 1% of listings, said Tripadvisor.
Travelers’ Choice recognizes businesses that earn consistently great reviews by travelers. According to Tripadvisor, Travelers’ Choice award-winners are among the top 10% of listings.
"Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice honors select accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence," said Tripadvisor.
Methodology
Winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period. To be eligible, a property, business, destination or point of interest must have been listed on Tripadvisor for at least 12 months, must receive a threshold number of reviews within the evaluation period of that award and must maintain or exceed a minimum bubble rating on Tripadvisor.
For specific Best of the Best award sub-categories additional eligibility criteria applies, said Tripadvisor, such as the type of guest experiences or amenities featured on-site.
