Why Miley Cyrus’ Boyfriend, Maxx Morando, Skipped the 2024 Grammys Red Carpet

Miley Cyrus opted not to bring her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, with her to the 2024 Grammys red carpet. But he did join her inside the ceremony, where they kissed.
Morando’s absence from the carpet is understandable as the couple has kept their relationship private for the most part. Cyrus and Morando choosing to let her work take the spotlight for the night makes sense given how much attention is on artists like Cyrus nominated there.
Cyrus is up for several awards: Her hit song “Flowers” is nominated for Record of the Year, Best Solo Pop Performance (which she won), and Song of the Year. Endless Summer Vacation is up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. She and Brandi Carlile also got a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration, “Thousand Miles.”
Cyrus and Morando were first rumored to be dating in 2021. In May 2023, Cyrus told British Vogue that they met a couple summers back. “We got put on a blind date,” she said. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’”
In late December, a source gave Us Weekly a little intel on how Cyrus sees long-term potential for their relationship. “Miley could see a healthy, positive and fruitful life with Maxx,” the insider said. “She’s learning from her past marriage and relationships and wants to build toward a better future with him.”
Cyrus is open to getting married again someday but is in no rush for it. She and Morando are “doing great,” the source said generally. “Miley is very much in love.”
The couple was last seen together in October but otherwise have kept a low profile.
