A funeral was held for former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins earlier this week, though his parents weren’t in attendance.

Earlier this week, the parents of the former Ohio State Buckeyes star, who was killed while trying to cross a Florida highway on April 16, held a separate memorial service instead.

Haskins’ parents revealed that they’ve never met nor spoken with Haskins’ wife and they didn’t want to meet her at his funeral.

“We have never met or spoken to the wife, and we didn’t want our son’s funeral service to be the place we met her for the first time,” their statement said.

Dwayne’s wife, Kalabrya, held a funeral for her husband at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh.

Urban Meyer, Ryan Shazier and Mike Tomlin, among others, were in attendance.

Haskins’ parents, meanwhile, held a separate memorial service in New Jersey and back home in Maryland.
